After McCain has done all that bashing of Obama for not having enough experience for president (and I thought that was a smart argument on his part), he turns around and hires someone with only 2 years experience as a Governor and of Alaska of all places? Small town mayor doesn't mean anything for experience.
Obama did a brilliant move by bringing in Biden (who i thought was a good candidate for president). Biden has an excellent background and covers the areas Obama is lacking.
Why why why McCain didn't think this decision will come back and bite him in the ass I have no clue!

Well if McCain was just looking for news coverage which he normally would not get enough of compared with Obama, this strategy did accomplish one thing and that was taking all the media attention away from Obama's huge Thursday night DNC party and speech. Everyone is talking about McCain's crazy pick. Of course those on the hard core right are just bragging about how she is a good mother and a hard pro-life supporter oh and a hunter too. oh my

I was a huge McCain fan back in 2000 and thought he should have been president instead of George Bush. I also think he had guts and was the only one coming up with and backing the surge idea. Other than a few areas, the McCain today is not the same guy he was back then. I felt like he sold us out on border security plans and other areas and today's announcement is just an enormous let down. He is playing politics so he can win at any price now. (I think you lose an election and you decide, "next time i will do whatever it takes to win". I'm suprised he didn't just convert hillary clinton to his side and try to win that way.

I am voting the McCain ticket, but yes this pick was a joke. I respect republicans and democrats that can admit the failures of their party. I hate people that just stand 100% behind their party, right or wrong.

whoa, i'm voting Obama, but yes both parties have their baggage and i'm not really expecting all that much change with either party winning. I think there will be more change with Obama, but change takes time and our country is slow to change.
and yes, what the hell was McCain smoking when he made that decision?

I won't tell you who i'm voting for or party affiliation, but the VP pick was smart for publicity and maybe converting some women to the ticket that were angry about the no vote for Hillary.
As for whats right for the country? I don't know I was amazed that Hillary was elected to the Senate, turns out she's done a good job. So I don't think being a VP is necessarily rocket science. If you have a knack for it, then maybe you can do it (or at least learn on the job if you are smart enough).

Publicity generated for McCain, yes it worked extremely well and it's getting him non-stop headlines which he normally doesn't get. But it scares me that politicians have to pick people that generate publicity rather than whats right for our country. In that case, why not pick a celebrity for V.P. I know there aren't a lot of republican celebs, but hell just pick one that is a woman and go for the max votes I won't tell you who i'm voting for or party affiliation, but the VP pick was smart for publicity and maybe converting some women to the ticket that were angry about the no vote for Hillary. I can say I agree with some of you on your personal view posts and disagree with others, but that is all just in fun. What really matters to me and why I am on this board is for the business advice and the numbers is what it is all about to me.

I gotta say I liked the old McCain and wished he won the election instead of President Bush. He would truly stand up against those that passed foolish legislation and those that porked out the bills for their own special interests. The new McCain is doing what he thinks he has to do to politically survive. I wish he had picked a better V.P.
I do think he has served our country and put his life on the line which Obama has not done and for that case, he deserves the GOP nomination.
But I do wish he wouldn't do sell out politics (that makes him like any other politician)

I cant believe McCain thinks the general public is stupid enough to not see through this BS! I cant wait to have a candidate thats really out there for the good of the country and not their own personal agenda.

I have some hard core opinions on this, but will wait until my land trust questions are answered. Once I see these answered, then I won't be afraid to take a side and offend anyone.

It's times like this I wish Obama would have placed Hillary on the VP ticket. I hate Hillary with a passion, but now if we are going down this path of putting someone in office to say win the womens vote, then Obama could have played this game with Hillary and it would have blown McCains woman winning strategy out of the water.

I believe the general public is this stupid (they may or may not realize what he is doing, but most will simply OBEY what their party tells them to OBEY and without question). Both parties feed their members talking points and most of the people simply just absorb and spew out these points.
